  • How can I change the color of text on a page?
    • With the introduction of EZsitePRO 4.0. you can no longer change the color of text within the WYSIWYG Editor. "But why would you take away this option". you say? Great question. and we promise we had good reasons for doing so. Here are the reasons for the change:

      1. Websites should be clean and consistent throughout. In most cases. using various font colors throughout a website creates a website that is inconsistent and looks unprofessional.
      2. Numerous and inconsistent colors make websites hard (and frustrating) to read. It might seem like a good idea to use a giant. red font to try and grab visitors' attention. but the truth is. it looks really tacky and discourages visitors from wanting to read the content on the page.
      3. Changing font colors using the WYSIWYG Editor overrides site-wide colors. Therefore. if you ever change your theme or color scheme. the font colors that were created using the WYSIWYG Editor will not match the new theme or color scheme.

A better way to use (consistent) colors throughout your website. is to use the H1 (Heading 1). H2 (Heading 2). H3 (Heading 3). and H4 (Heading 4) tags available under the "format" drop-down menu in the WYSIWYG Editor. Then. you can define the font size. type. and color of these various tags in the CSS. Then. if you ever change themes. the tags will take on the font size. type. and color defined in the new CSS for that theme.

Troubleshooting

  • How do I center the picture in my Home Page slideshow?
    • If your pictures are floating to the top of the Home Page slideshow. to correct this issue. you will need to find a larger picture that takes up all the room from the top to the bottom of the slideshow area. Usually this means about 430 pixels tall.
  • Problems linking to a file using the WYSIWYG Editor
    • If you have created a link to a file using the WYSIWYG Editor and the file is not pulling up when you click on the hyperlink. try the following steps:
      1. (1) Highlight the link in the WYSIWYG Editor
      2. (2) Click on the "Insert Link" icon
      3. (3) For the field that says "Protocol". change it from "http://" to "other"
      4. (4) Click "Ok"
      5. (5) Click "Save"
